  1. Please upload your video, ready or not. It must be uploaded today!
  2. Please complete the blog post when you are finished.
  3. After that, please watch your classmates' movies! Use internet explorer. You will get a popup at the top of the screen, click on it and say "allow," and you will be able to watch the movies.

Blog Post:

Please reflect upon your assignment and what you learned. Divide your writing into three paragraphs. Each paragraph should have at least 4-5 sentences:

Paragraph one: discuss the different programs you used to complete this assignment. Which did you like? Which did you not like? Which might you use in the future for something else?
Paragraph two: discuss what you learned about your DESTINATION. Would you like to actually go there? Why? Tell us about it.
Paragraph three: What experiences in the class did you enjoy? What did you not like as much? What was easy, and what was hard? Overall, what did you learn from taking this class?

  4. Go to EMBED and get the code

Monday, December 10th
Sorry I am out again--I broke my foot! I should be back tomorrow.

So we don't get behind, please do the following:

1. Open Windows Movie Maker on your computer
2. Create a project called "dream Vacation Last Name (your last name!)"
3. Start adding in your vacation pictures--all 25 of them, in the order you'd like your vacation to be
4. If you finish, add titles and captions to your photos


Friday, December 6th

You may either:
1. Finish up your spreadsheet, slideshow, and photo editing
OR, if you are completely finished with everything above
2. Find Windows Movie Maker on your computer. Try to make a practice movie using random (NOT vacation) photos.


Tuesday, December 4th

Finish cropping photos until you have 10 with you in them
Check that you have all required photos in your Picasa Album:
  • 5 of your hotel
  • 5 of restaurants
  • 5 of activities
  • 10 of your overall destination (whatever you want)

EMBED your picasa slide show onto your wiki page




Monday, Dec 3rd
Start labeling all of your pictures. You will need to do this to keep them organized.
For example "sitting on beach." "eating at Applebees"

Be sure you have them in both Picasa AND on your desktop.

Start cropping yourself into at least 10 different photos.



Thursday, November 29th

Figure out an ONLINE source that will allow you to crop yourself OUT of your photos and PASTE yourself onto other photos. SAVE the new photos in your folder and in Picasa.


Wednesday November 28th

Balance your spreadsheet so that you have spent $100000.
Make sure your links are added to the spreadsheet
Link your spreadsheet to your wiki page for a grade; make it public

Check that you have pictures:

5 of your hotel
5 of restaurants
5 of activities
10 of your overall destination (whatever you want)

ALL should be in Picasa Web Albums.

If you finish early, embed your slide show of your pictures on to your wiki page.


Monday, November 26th

1. Make sure your spreadsheet has what it needs: Airfare info, hotel info, activities, etc. ALL should have links!
2. Work on your 7 restaurants.



Friday November 16th
  1. Select 7 activities you will do on your trip.
  2. Link each one to your spreadsheet.
  3. Take a photo of each one and add it to your desktop and Picasa
Thursday November 15th
Catch up on all assignments. You should have:

- 4 blog posts (digital footprint, google apps, vacation destination, hotel)
- a vacation spreadsheet ready to go
- your flight info on the spreadsheet
- your hotel info on the spreadsheet
- 5 pictures of your hotel saved in Picasa Web Albums and on your desktop

If you are finished, complete the bonus assignment:

Get an account with StatCounter & EMBED a counter onto your blog. This counter will track more detailed data than the one that comes on blogger.

Find some other WIDGETS to embed on to your blog. You can find some right on blogger.

Wednesday November 14th

Check that you finished the blog post about your Dream Vacation destination
Write a blog post about your hotel. Explain:
- the name & location of the hotel
- the amenities it has (pool, fitness center, etc)
- why you chose the hotel, including some information about the reviews you read

Your post should be about 2 paragraphs long. Include a picture!



Tuesday November 13th

Check that you finished yesterday's work
Calculate how much your hotel will cost for 7 nights
Add the info to your spreadsheet, including a link to the hotel
Create a new folder on your desktop called "dream vacation pics"
Save at least 5 pictures from your HOTEL and add them to that folder



Monday, November 12th

Write a blog post explaining:

Your destination that you chose (where is it, what is there, etc): 1 paragraph
Why you chose it: 1 paragraph

Go to Tripadvisor.com and start reading about different hotels at your destination.
Select one and add the details to your spreadsheet.



Friday, November 9th

Continue to find flight
Add all info to spreadsheet
Find a Rental Car
Check out the cost of taxis or other public transportation
Read more about your destination

Learn how to operate a spreadsheet
Create a google spreadsheet that shows you can:

  • sum a column
  • add two cells
  • subtract one cell from another
  • multiply 2 cells
  • divide 2 cells
  • color code your work

Monday November 5th
1. Explore the different Google Apps that are available to you.
2. Pick at least three that you have never seen before.
3. Make a new blog post titled "Google Apps."
On that post, list each app and then:
  • Provide a link
  • Explain what it does
  • Explain how it could be useful to you as a student
  • Link or embed a video tutorial for one of the apps if you can
Friday, November 2nd

  1. Finish up your blog post.
  2. READ at least three other classmates' blog posts
  3. COMMENT on at least three other classmates' blog posts (professionally)
  4. BE SURE three people comment on your blog post



Thursday, November 1st
  1. check that your blog is linked and that others can comment on it
  2. do an online search for "digital footprint."
  3. read at least 3 or 4 sites about it (different ones than your neighbor is using)
  4. write a blog post labeled "digital footprint" and in it, explain:

  • what that term means (one paragraph)
  • why it's important to have a positive digital footprint (one paragraph)
  • how you can keep track of your own digital footprint, including some tools to do so.

Last, on the post, add the links to the sites you used for your information.

This assignment is due at the end of the block on Friday!


Monday, October 28:
  • Create a BLOG using blogger
  • Name it "maria's blog" or something similar
  • Write a first blog POST saying hello to the class
  • LINK your blog to your wiki page for credit.

Thursday, October 24:
  • Log in
  • Find the wiki
  • Make a wikispaces account if you don't have one
  • Make a page
  • make an avatar
